All That You Need To Know About The Sheet Rubber Gasket Material!

Gasketing.net is the top-notch brand that has been in this industry for 35 years and has the widest range of gasket sheets for your applications. Here I have curated a list of the different sheet rubber gasket materials that would be useful for you to decide for your application.

1.     NITRILE RUBBER (BUNA-N)
This is the most widely used one and has incredible resistance to the petroleum products. It also shows excellent compression sets, abrasion and tear resistance. Although, it is not well suited to resist sunlight, ozone or the weather but works well in the temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit

2.     FLUOROCARBON (VITON OR FKM)
It is a high tech elastomer that is designed to bear heat, oil as well as chemicals. Viton also resists all types of hydrocarbons, concentrated alkalis and acids, as well as the oils. It works well up to 400F temperature.

3.     EPDM
It is one black plate finish sheet that has superior resistance to ozone, UV light and weather. It also provides excellent resistance to chemicals and has good electrical properties.

4.     CHLOROPRENE
It is moderately resistant to the petroleum products and has good resistance to ozone and weather. It is very suitable for the sealing refrigerator fluids like the Freon.

5.     SILICONE
It is amazingly versatile and can be applied to variable applications. It offers great resistance to temperature, UV, ozone and fire. It also has excellent compression set resistances, which allow it to maintain an apt seal for many years.

6.     RED RUBBER
It is mainly recommended for the lower applications like washers and the gaskets employed for plumbing trades and heating. It is low in cost as well as non-oil resistant. It flows under compression and offers good aging and resistance to abrasion.

7.     AFLAS
It is preferable for the combination of oil and ammonia and offers chemical resistance.

8.     PER FLUORO ELASTOMER
This is suitable for high temperature and chemical applications.
